The Orff group, under the direction of Lynette Miller, will be sharing music with us on Palm Sunday.
On Easter Sunday, April 8, the Handbell Choir along with some brass instruments will be sharing several new pieces with us.
For Mother’s Day, we will try to have a Men’s Choir again. Last year, it was a big hit! If you men would like to do this again, please let Doris know. Rehearsals will start April 18th.
We have been working hard already on our Marketplace plans. Marketplace is a 3 day hands-on experience for children entering Kindergartner all the way up to youth in middle school. Because several different conflicts, Marketplace is scheduled for May 31-June 2, which is a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. We will be studying Abraham, Joseph, and Moses.
The United Methodist Women are taking on the task of providing Health Kits that will be given to persons who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster. Health kits are also used as learning tools in personal hygiene, literacy, nutrition and cooking classes. If you would like to donate one or more Health Kits, please place the items inside a sealed, one-gallon plastic bag. All items must be new. There is a list of items needed on the hall table. Bring your kits to the church and we will take care of shipping them to the right place for distribution. (Or, if you would rather make a donation, just give your check to Mildred Peters, Bro. David, or bring it to the church office.)
We will take a special offering next Sunday, February 26, for “Have a Heart for Seniors.” This is to help our conference Senior Adult facilities pay for care for seniors who are unable to pay for themselves. Last year alone, Wesley Manor (one of our facilities in Louisville) provided more than $1,305,000 in charitable and subsidized care to 105 needy seniors – and we see the need increasing.
A special offering will be taken Sunday, November 15, to offset the expense
of our elevator and bathroom renovations.
