Prayer.
As Coordinator of Lay Ministry here at Ogden, I just wanted to let you know what God has placed on my heart when it comes to this position. I was charged to inspire and involve EVERY member of Ogden in ministry. This is ministry could simply be within the church or within our community and in this world. I feel like God has called every Christian into ministry. God gifts all church members to perform the ministry to which He calls them. The Church possesses every gift needed to perform whatever task God calls us to do.
So there is the key . . . What GOD calls us to do. I feel very passionately that God is calling us to throw down our good ideas and pick up what He desires us to do. But to do this we must be listening. Jim Cymbala in his book Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire explains “If we call upon the Lord, he has promised in his Word to answer, to bring the unsaved to himself, to pour out his Spirit among us. If we don’t call upon the Lord, he has promised nothing – nothing at all. It’s as simple as that. The future will depend upon out ties of prayer.”
God has placed it on my heart to call the church to be a people of prayer. I encourage you to seek the Lord like never before for Ogden as a church body working in unity to further His Kingdom. With that said, we will be starting a prayer meeting every Tuesday nights at 7pm in the sanctuary. I urge every single person that is receiving this contact to come and pray. We will be praying that He will give us the skills to cut out His pattern for our ministry and our church.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:13. Let us seek Him with ALL of our heart.

Dear Friends @ Ogden,
I am writing this in regards to my experiences @ the prayer meetings on Tuesday evenings. I have been going every Tuesday evening now for about two months. I have found it to be an essential part of my life now, for it is the lifeline that gets me through my week. It is my very special time with my heavenly father…it is my time to praise him, thank him, rejoice in him, cry to him, ask for his guidance, as well as his forgiveness. It is truly an AWESOME experience to be in His Heavenly place of worship, and to have that special time alone with him. It is also a time to gather with others who are there to seek his guidance and direction in their lives, as well as share concerns. We are there to support one another, and come together one night a week to show our love, dedication, and faithfulness to the lord. I would encourage each and every one of you to please come out on a Tuesday evening for an AWESOME night of worship and fellowship…it is truly one of the best hours you will spend. We are very laid back…a short bible verse is read @ the beginning, and then we each go to different places in the sanctuary for our individual prayer time(FYI:I have dibs on the left hand stairs leading up to the balcony..LOL!!). Worship music is played and as the saying goes…we go to town! Sometimes we laugh… sometimes we cry… sometimes we just sit there in complete silence. One thing is for sure though…we are all there to meet out Heavenly Father, and he to meet us. We then close with a short prayer with each other, and off we go…ready and armed to have a GREAT week… to celebrate the joys that come our way, and we also are equipped to handle the battles as well. I could not do without my weekly prayer meetings. My hopes and prayers are that each and every one of you can receive the blessings that each of us do when we come to meet our Heavenly Father on Tuesday evenings… for I know that I could not do without them.
In Christ,
Mary-Ashley Griffin
