New Robes for Chancel Choir

Posted on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 2:04 pm

Plans are underway to purchase 30 new robes for the Chancel Choir.  As of this past Sunday, 20 robes have been promised with 7 given in memory of, 2 given in honor of, and 11 others.
Any amount toward the purchase of a robe will be appreciated.  They cost approximately $100 each.  If you would like to be a part of this effort, please mark your check or envelope to Ogden for “choir robes.”

  1. Meghan Says:

The Chancel Choir has almost reached its goal of 30 new robes, and the final order will be sent within the next two weeks. Most of the choir members have been measured, and this Wednesday evening, July 30, and Sunday, August 3, Linda Overfield will be on hand to complete this part of the ordering process.
The new robes will be of light-weight woven Peach Skin permanent press fabric that may be machine washed or professionally dry-cleaned. Our present robes are dry-clean only. The ivory/ Candlelight color will allow us to wear the stoles that coordinate with the paraments on the pulpit and atlar, reflecting the colors of the church year. The color will also blend with the background of the choir loft and enable us to use some of the old robes to fill in when needed.
We appreciate everyone who has had a part in this special project.
