I’m so excited. We have started construction and will have the project ongoing for several weeks.
Please be patient with the inconveniences this causes.
THANKS to all that helped last Saturday with the clean-up. It was fine fellowship.
In Christ,
Rocky
It is time for another day trip on the Ogden Church van with friends - men and women - to enjoy special attractions in our area. Mark your calendar for Thurs., July 2, to go to Paducah for the following activities:
National Quilt Museum - “Best of Show: 25 Years of Quilting Excellence”…A once in a lifetime opportunity to see the 25 past prize-winning quilts from the national competition of the Paducah Quilt Show. These are not your grandmother’s bed quilts; they are true works of art. If we have a group of 15, admission is $5. If not, admission is $6 for seniors (60 and over) or $8 regular. I believe that we can count on a group of at least 15.
On to lunch at Kirchhoff’s Deli and Bakery…if you want to stretch your legs after lunch, go for dessert at the Chocolate Factory on Market House Square or to the nearby Ice Cream Shop on Broadway. The church van will drive us to observe the flood wall murals and the Raymond Schultz Park overlooking the Ohio River.
We will have a guided tour of the gothic-style Broadway United Methodist Church to see their recent renovation, learn of their history and hear their ministry programs.
Please call the church office now to reserve your place (365-3528). If we have more than 15 persons wanting to take this adventure, we will have other private transportation available. This is a great opportunity for fun and fellowship…don’t miss it!! We will LEAVE the church parking lot at 9:15 a.m. and expect to be home by approximately 4:00 p.m. Questions? Call Marty Presler 365-9881.
THE MORRISSEYS ARE COMING!
On Tuesday, July 7, Mike and Sherri Morrissey will be with us to share about their exciting work as United Methodist Missionaries to Thailand. There will be a meal at 6:00 P.M. (Bill Perry will grill chicken) and the Morrissey’s presentation will begin about 7:00 P.M.
In the few years since Mike and Sherri began their work as the first U.M. Missionaries to Thailand, God has enabled them to start several churches and worship stations, local persons have been called into the ministry, and a connection has been established between these congregations and others in Laos and Vietnam. It’s an amazing story. Come hear what God is doing.
Our youth will be partnering with TEAMeffort in Cincinnati, OH, from July 5-11. Over the years TEAMeffort has brought over 65,000 youth and leaders from thousands of churches of different denominations together to work side-by-side on life-changing, eye-opening, faith-building mission experiences.
Their mission camps are designed to be a mixture of meaningful service, challenging work, spiritual growth and good, clean, adventurous fun. Our group can expect to work hard, play hard and laugh hard. When mission week is over, their goal is to return home as a stronger group that has shared in memories that will last a lifetime and is excited about what Jesus Christ is doing in all of their lives.
We will have a send-off breakfast on July 5 during Sunday School. We invite you to support the youth and lift them up in your prayers.
Meghan
